We are new to Hockey ! Does it matter that we have never played before?
No, not at all! Despite us being a small club, we match everyone’s level of ability & experience into smaller groups. It is never too late to start, we have beginners of all ages.
Do you have a trial membership?
We welcome participants to trial hockey for one week free of charge. After that week, due to insurance, fees apply.
What equipment do they need?
All players require a hockey stick, shin pads and mouth guard. These are essential to ensure players safety. A uniform is required for game days, but not for training (just wear comfortable sportswear – t-shirt, shorts/skirt and long socks). Please also remember a drink bottle for training and games and also sunscreen.
Where can I buy the equipment?
The club has no equipment available for sale. We do hold a few sticks in case you come down for a try night. There are several specialist hockey shops in Perth who have a wide range of equipment. Alternatively check out the internet and get it delivered to your door.
Mouthguards can be organised through sports shops and websites or our local chemists.
When does the season starts and finish?
The season starts on the 2nd May for Seniors and 9th May for Minky and Junior players. It will continue through to the 19th Spetember concluding with an end of season celebration.
Do you train during the school holidays?
Junior and Minky hockey will take a break over school holidays.
Seniors may still play depending on demand, Juniors are welcome to join should they not being going away. Please kep an eye on the Hedland Hockey Facebook page to be informed about whether these weeks will go ahead.
Where do they train?
All Minky, Juniors and Seniors train at our home ground, 2 Crawford St
Port Hedland, 6721 (Tennis Club). This is a turf court and has lights for the evenings.
How do I pay the fees and insurance?
We prefer any fees & insurance payments to be made via direct deposit payable to
